As the day winds down, the bedside light can remain sharper than the rest of the room. Many small lamps bring the glare of overhead lighting closer to the pillow. Cedar instead encloses its bulb within a woven linen drum held in a narrow steel oval. The weave distributes a steady warm pool towards your book, shielding the light source from direct view rather than shining it at you. A solid timber disc beneath the frame holds the lamp steady beside the bed. Turning it on gives the room a quieter, lantern-like glow as evening becomes bedtime.

Disconnect from the mains first. Remove dust from shade and frame using a dry, soft cloth or gentle vacuum suction with a brush. Lightly dampen a cloth for the wooden footing and dry at once. Do not let liquid reach the socket.

What are its dimensions?

With a width of approximately 22 cm and height of 40 cm, it suits bedside placement and a reading nook without dominating the bed.

Does it provide enough light to read?

Yes — linen disperses rather than reduces the illumination. A regular warm LED supplies a comfortable area for reading. If you prefer more brightness, select a bulb with a higher lumen rating.

Should I pick a black or white frame?

Against cream walls or limewash, white gives a quiet, blended appearance. Black creates a defined silhouette alongside walnut, oak or darker interiors. Both versions use an identical linen shade and the same wooden base.

Can it be the main room light?

Its role is bedside and accent lighting. Add warm illumination alongside a main light set low, or place two lamps on matching tables beside the bed.

What care does the shade need?

Disconnect the plug before removing dust using dry fabric or a vacuum brush gently. Do not soak the linen. Dab individual marks only when necessary, then allow complete natural drying.
